What a Horror Movie Would Be Like, If The “Victim” Had a Gun
3 Comments Published 2 years, 1 month ago in Video, Defense, Crime, GunsAs one might expect of a man so brilliant, Thomas Jefferson had the perfect answer to modern politicians itchy to disarm the ordinary citizen.“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms … disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. … Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.”
This is an entry in his Commonplace Book, dated sometime between 1774 and 1776.
While only 36% of homes have a dog, 40% of homes have a gun.
Popular opinion seems to indicate that guns are better suited at home protection.

Go to a second-hand store, buy a pair of men’s used work boots… a really big pair.
Put them outside your front door on top of a copy of Guns and Ammo magazine. Put a dog dish beside it… a really big dish.
Leave a note on your front door that says something like this:
Bubba, Big Mike and I have gone to get more ammunition - back in 30 minutes. Don’t disturb the pit bulls, they’ve just been wormed.

- You ever seriously thought about dabbing a little Hoppe’s #9 on your neck before going out on a date.
- You buy a gun that’s just like that other gun you have except the barrel is 1/2″ shorter (longer).
- You ever clean a gun that hasn’t been shot in the week since you cleaned it last.
- You ever bought ammo/reloading dies in a caliber for which you have no gun, because you thought some day you MIGHT get a gun in that caliber.
- You bought a barrel of Garand clips for the Garand you’re going to buy.
- You ever bought two brands of the same weight and type of bullet, just to see if one “shot better”.
- You ever had to explain “It’s not the SAME gun, it’s a different VARIANT”.
- You read the sports section/classifieds just for the gun ads.
- You have ever had your local gun store call your house and ask “We are doing a stock order, did you need anything??”
- You do all metric-to-English unit conversions starting with the phrase, “Well thirty caliber is .308 inches and 7.62mm, so…”
